Hoya pubicalyx is a vigorous vining plant with deep green lanceolate leaves, eager to climb up a trellis or cascade gracefully over the sides of its pot. Its leaves are often mottled with flecks of silvery variegation, and depending on how much light it receives, the stems can take on shades of purple. Native to the Philippines, we get many different cultivars of Hoya pubicalyx, such as 'Pink Silver,' and choose from the very best available. Eventually, clusters of fragrant star-shaped flowers appear on the vine which, depending on the cultivar, vary from white to pink, red and purple. Hoya is happiest in bright, indirect light, which is why it's often found hanging in windows. The plant likes baskets on the smaller side so that it can be a bit rootbound. Make sure your soil has good drainage, and water it enough to keep it moist, but not wet. Light. These houseplants like lots of bright, indirect sun. ... Water. Let your Hoya indoor plants dry out between waterings. ... Temperature. Most Hoyas love warm environments - 65-85℉ - and should be kept away from drafty windows and doorways during the colder months. In the spring and summer months, Hoya plants generally need to be watered about once every week. In the fall and winter, Hoyas can typically be watered less, about once every 2 weeks. In general, it is better to under water your Hoya than over water it. Light. These houseplants like lots of bright, indirect sun. ... Water. Let your Hoya indoor plants dry out between waterings. ...
